PARTNERS
The Flat Iron Trust is currently supporting the following charitable organisations
FELIX
A billion good meals go to waste every year. Felix works with supermarkets, restaurants, wholesalers, manufacturers, farmers and charities to get surplus food where it’s needed most across all four nations of the UK supporting 1.5 million people, alongside 16 other independent charities, 18,000 volunteers and thousands of partners.
We have a long standing relationship with the Felix Project which started in 2019 and was strengthened during the Pandemic. We are delighted to be able to partner again with this incredible charity at a time when their reach has extended nationwide following their merger with FareShare. The nationwide presence means the new charity Felix is now able to redistribute food to over 8,000 charities and community groups, providing not just a meal, but also connection, dignity and hope, thereby turning an environmental problem into a social opportunity.

GRASSROOTS FARMING
Founded by Alastair Trickett and a few other like-minded farmers, Grassroots Farming is about implementing on-farm improvements that deliver a net positive impact on the environment. Grassroots have built a set of clearly defined and measurable standards that take a holistic approach and focus on restoring ecosystems, mimicking natural grazing patterns, improving soil health, and increasing carbon capture. They aim to achieve this through investing in natural capital and recruiting as many farmers as possible to the scheme.
We are delighted to support Grassroots Farming and we hope that over the coming years we can help UK farmers, one by one transition to this way of managing their cattle and their land to deliver better beef and a positive environmental impact.
TEAM CHARITY
Every year, the Flat Iron Trust invites our restaurant teams to choose a charity for the Trust to support. The criteria are simple: the charity must operate within the health sector and address issues that have a significant impact on communities across the UK and within hospitality.
This year, two charities received an equal number of votes, and we are delighted to support them both.

CAMPAIGN AGAINST LIVING MISERABLY (CALM)
CALM is a leading UK suicide prevention charity working to tackle the devastating impact of suicide. In the UK, a life is lost to suicide every 90 minutes. Within the hospitality industry, the picture is even more concerning, with 1 in 2 people reporting experiences of suicidal thoughts, self-harm, or other negative mental health struggles.
Through its life-saving helpline, free digital support tools, and national campaigns, CALM provides vital support to those who need it most, breaking silence, challenging stigma, and reminding people that they are never alone and help is always available.

THE CHARLIE WALLER TRUST
The Charlie Waller Trust provides life-changing support to young people experiencing mental health difficulties and to the families around them. Young people are at the heart of everything they do, helping them achieve and sustain better mental health.
The Trust equips those closest to young people – families, friends, educators, communities, and employers – with evidence-based strategies, guidance, training and support to help create lasting positive change.
